Origins

The Tap’s foundations started just outside of Houston as the city of Old Waller's  Train Depot which was built in the 1930s.  It was moved about 75 miles to College Station in the mid 1970's. Square footage was added to the original template.  From there it began as an Italian restaurant and then a string of nightclubs in the 1980's. The "Tap Guys" led by Gary Seaback (1954-2010) got a hold of it and opened The Tap in 1990.   The success of The Tap inspired the same guys to open a "bigger Tap with a dance floor" which led them to open Hurricane Harrys in February 1992.

Our story began on opening night 12/29/1990 with a juke box.
